Every morning as the school bell rang and students filed into their classes, a recognisable figure started arriving at the school premises. Students and staff were soon drawn to the dog because of its regular appearances. The dog would always, without fail, stray through the school gates, hang out on the playground, and cast a hopeful glance through the classroom windows.
At first, the dog’s presence appeared to be just an oddity of interest. But as the days stretched into weeks, the teachers and students began to worry more and more for the safety of their unexpected guest. The dog was clearly not just roaming; it had established the school as a regular stop. The dog would sometimes find a place to sit and observe the kids, and the instructors noticed that it looked at them with a mixture of wonder and longing. Mrs. Thompson, a compassionate educator with a strong affinity for animals, was one of the worried employees.
