Giving birth has to be one of the most magical and memorable moments of one’s life, and the couple gave birth to twins, which is a surprise birth! Although all the scans were done regularly, they did not know, and when she went into labor and gave birth, after a few minutes, another baby was in her arms, too.
The couple wanted to experience a natural water birth at home and were ready for it. However, pregnancy sickness was always present. From unbearable migraines to morning sickness, everything became hard for her. She did not even want to get ultrasounds done because of how they wanted a natural birth, and whenever a Doppler was used, there was only one heartbeat.
The swelling was unimaginable and painful for the mother, but what was coming her way was so special that she could do anything to hold her beautiful baby in her arms.
An ultrasound was recommended to be done by the midwife as she suspected a breech position, but everything went in place before delivery time, and natural labor was induced. It was the 12th of July when the couple was all set to welcome their baby, but were surprised by two instead. Her water finally broke, and the midwife gave her 16 hours to give birth naturally, which was eventually shifted to 24 hours. However, it did not look like things were going their way, so finally, after 30 hours of immense cramps and unbearable pain, they went to the hospital.
When the wife’s family was informed, her sister came to the hospital, rushing, hoping that she would not miss the magical moment. Thankfully, she just reached in time!
Her first contraction, the one that you indicated you would be giving birth soon, hit her the moment they reached the hospital and were getting out of the car. After reaching the hospital, it felt like time was moving faster. The couple was checked in and assigned a room, and they saw a large birthing tub the moment they entered. It started to feel real now!
Within an hour, she was pushing. The labor was hard but fast, finally, after the water had broken after so many hours. After two major pushes, a cry was heard. A beautiful, tiny baby was welcomed into the world. They were unaware of the baby’s gender as he was still in the tub.
While the nurses and the parents thought it was time to prep for the placenta, the mother felt another contraction. One like before giving birth, it felt like pushing another baby, and it turned out that what she was feeling was right! Another baby was born. Everyone in the room was left speechless; no one saw it coming.
The parents wholeheartedly welcomed two beautiful baby girls—Ada Maze and Billie June. They were born at 38 weeks and 4 days, completely changing their parents’ world. It was the most beautiful surprise the parents had gotten. Each twin was 20 inches long and weighed the same—6 lbs 11 oz. Not only this, but everything about the twins was the same, from the blood types to the three long hair strands and lengths.
Although the couple was not able to experience a home birth like they always wanted, what they got in return was way more special and precious to them: two healthy baby girls. It was perfectly curated.
