People are not like how we assume them to be. Most people are friendly to strangers and their families. This is the story of how the man who was ideal and a dream man for the people in the outside world abused her wife. They did not just assume him to be a perfect husband but also a great father, one who fufiilled the needs of his kids responsibly, was kind to them, and gave it all to his role as a father!
She was also told how lucky she was because she was married to him, but what about her efforts in making the relationship work?
Was there anyone to witness what was happening behind closed doors when no one was around? It all started with the husband calling her names that were an insult- whore, fatass, and whatnot. Although all this started soon after the marriage, it eventually increased when she gave birth to his child! It was not just limited to verbal abuse, but on Mother’s Day, when the couple got into an argument, he spat on his face, and there was not one sign of regret on his face. In another series of events, in a heated argument, he pushed his wife so hard that she hit the coffee table.
She was hurt, so when she wanted to call for help, he sobbed like a baby, asking her to forgive him. Worse, he snatched away all the phones available that day. He was never really sorry for what he did. He apologized only to get away with what he kept doing!
The incidents don’t end here.
From breaking doors with his fist and locking his wife outside while she was wearing a t-shirt in freezing temperatures, he abused her multiple times for years! One time, he slammed his wife’s hand so hard that X-rays were needed to make sure no fractures were there. The hospital staff enquired about what had happened, but she was embarrassed to admit it and got away with an excuse. While the wife’s family, friends, and everyone around saw a man who was always happy and brought gifts to parties to add to the fear, his wife lived in fear. She slept with the door locked just because she feared anything could happen at any moment.
She finally decided to leave him, but things just got worse.
While she was no longer abused, people started questioning her and telling her how hard marriage was and how she might not be putting in enough effort to make things work. The outside world could not see their daughter’s eyes, which were full of terror and fear, nor could they see the bruises that came with the abuse. Was it that easy to decide things without knowing the truth?
However, she does not regret the decision. It was meant to happen to protect herself and her daughter’s lives. So, she shared her story on the internet to let all the struggling women know it is okay to leave.
