When you plan a day out with a toddler, you should not be surprised if some chaos occurs. Toddler meltdowns are absolute!
Last night, she decided to head out, as motherhood can take over your social life. So, she headed to the Olive Garden to have dinner. Harlynn, her toddler, was also to be taken along, hoping she wouldn’t bother at all, as she was usually a calm child.
However, Harylnn was so full of energy that night that she refused to sit on the chair. The baby was determined to be noticed by everyone in the restaurant because of her high energy and meltdown. On the other hand, the mother was doing all she could to calm her down, but she was unstoppable. Things got so bad that she was on her breaking point. The mother had no other option but to seek help.
Thus, she saw a waitress standing near the table, politely asking if she could get her food packed. She further added that she would have the meal in the car. However, as the waitress observed the situation, rather than nodding, she insisted that the mother sit down and enjoy dinner. The waitress said she would take care of the toddler and sit with her while the mother could enjoy her meal.
It was awkward for the mother to agree as her child’s behavior might have already bothered so many people, but she decided as the waitress insisted.
In a few minutes, fulfilling the waitress’s promise, she approached the table with an ice cream bowl. It was topped with caramel- children’s favourite! A warm heart was also added as a topping, the sweetest gesture the mother had experienced in a while. Although Harlynn was sitting in her mother’s lap the entire time and refused to get off, the moment Nianni Nani, the kind waitress, started to feed her, the baby was calm. She was distracted enough that the mother could peacefully enjoy her delicious meal, which was still hot.
Although the waitress did a tiny act of kindness, it made Mother’s Day a lot better, and she did not know how she could be thanked for the beautiful gesture. Humans do not experience this in their lives, as everyone is busy and in a race to fulfill their responsibilities. It was her kindness that took over the mother’s heart. She called her dad and told the entire story on the way home. Moreover, the mother also learned a valuable lesson that day: it takes strength and a big heart to do what she does every day and not give up.
While she penned the entire story in a post, she repeatedly thanked the waitress for being her saviour on a stressful night.
This is not something everyone can do!
