In pregnancy, your mother was everything to you. She was the only person you knew, the one who offered you safety and comfort. Before I had the chance to cuddle you, she kept you near her every day, never letting you slip away. Before I sacrificed sleep or my time for you, she sacrificed her body, her comfort, and so much more merely to bring you into existence.
As you wept in my embrace, I attempted to comfort you, but long before, your mother had calmed you with merely the rhythm of her heartbeat. Even before you could listen to my voice, she had already become a source of solace. She gave up things I never had to consider, all because of her love for you.
You are present today due to her. Before I even imagined you, she had already given you her entire heart. That is something I can never completely repay. It might not seem clear at this moment, but once you experience parenthood yourself, you will understand it patently: the deep, intense love that only a mother can provide.
Although I will always value and care for you deeply, I will also maintain a unique love and respect for your mother. By loving you, i have realized just how remarkable her love really is.
