When I met my husband, I was 20 and he was 19. He liked me right away, but it took me a little longer to see him as more than a friend. We met through our church’s youth group and spent lots of Friday nights there talking and laughing. He was kind, polite, and had a strong faith in God and I always admired his smile.
Slowly, we got closer. One day, he asked me out for coffee, and we talked for hours. After that, we began dating. A few years later, we got married in a beautiful wedding in Mexico.
From the beginning, we dreamed of a big family. We chose to wait for having kids because we wanted to travel, finish school, and create a strong start for our future.
Everything was going well, but when we started trying for a baby in 2015, things did not go as planned.
I have had PCOS since I was a teenager and had always taken medication. When I stopped taking birth control, my doctor ran some tests. My hormone levels were not right, so I had to wait. Later, she gave me medication to help me ovulate, but it did not work. She referred me to a fertility doctor.
By the end of 2016, we met with a new doctor who found more issues, including blocked fallopian tubes and stage 1 endometriosis. Surgery was the only option, and after months of waiting, I had it. The doctor told me we could try GUI, but there were no guarantees.
Our first GUI failed, and I was heartbroken. But Isaac stayed positive and kept me encouraged. We kept praying and stayed strong in our faith.
In September 2017, we tried again. A few days later, I felt different. I waited, took a test and it was finally positive.
At my first ultrasound, I found out I had twins. At the second ultrasound, they spotted three maybe even four. By the third scan, it was clear: I had quadruplets.
The pregnancy went better than we ever expected. No major issues, no hospital stays, just four growing babies. In June 2018, at 34 weeks, they were born healthy and strong.
We are now parents to four astonishing babies. It was a long, hard road but looking at them, we know it was worth every step. God’s timing was perfect, and His plan was greater than ours.
