Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may reportedly stay at Althorp House during their upcoming visit to the UK.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are set to attend the “one-year-to-go” events for the Invictus Games in Birmingham between July 10 and July 17, 2026.
Althorp House, the historic estate linked to Harry’s late mother, Princess Diana, is roughly an hour’s drive from Birmingham, making it a convenient option for their stay.
According to the estate’s website, Althorp will be closed to visitors on July 10 and 11, even though it is normally open to the public from July 1 through August 31 each year, attracting Diana admirers from around the world.

The temporary closure has fuelled speculation that Harry and Meghan could be staying there with Earl Charles Spencer, Princess Diana’s brother. Reports from Hello! suggest the estate has been offered to the couple, though no final decision has been made.
It has also not been confirmed whether the Sussexes will receive taxpayer-funded security during their visit. Prince Harry is required to apply for protection at least 30 days before travelling, with each request assessed on a case-by-case basis.
Representatives for Earl Spencer declined to comment when approached by GB News, while the Sussexes’ spokesperson has also been contacted.

Harry, 41, and Meghan, 44, are expected to travel with their children, Prince Archie, seven, and Princess Lilibet, five — marking their first UK visit as a family since 2022.
Archie was born at Portland Hospital in London in May 2019 and spent his early months at Frogmore Cottage in Windsor before the family moved to the United States. Lilibet was born in Santa Barbara in June 2021 and later visited the UK in 2022 for Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee, where she met King Charles for the first time.
The family now lives in Montecito, California, near Los Angeles, where Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, resides.

Prince Harry previously stayed at Althorp House in 2024 when attending the funeral of Lord Robert Fellowes. Prince William was also present, though the brothers reportedly did not speak during the service.
In his memoir Spare, Harry also described visiting Princess Diana’s grave with Meghan on the 25th anniversary of her death. Diana is buried on an island in the Oval Lake at the Althorp Estate.
He wrote about the emotional moment, recalling how he placed flowers at the grave and spoke to his late mother, saying he missed her and asking for guidance.
