Coronation Street actor Jack P Shepherd and his wife, Hanni Treweek, have welcomed a baby girl, the couple revealed on Sunday evening.
Their daughter, Constance Ita Shepherd, was born peacefully at home on Friday, June 26, making the 38-year-old soap star a father for the fourth time.
Sharing the happy news alongside a photo of the new parents holding their newborn’s tiny hand, they wrote on Instagram: “Our beautiful baby girl has arrived, born peacefully at home, surrounded by love.”
The baby is the couple’s first child together, while Shepherd already has three children from previous relationships.
The pair first met on the Coronation Street set, where Treweek worked as a storyliner while Shepherd played long-running character David Platt.
Their relationship soon blossomed, and Shepherd proposed during a safari holiday in June 2024.
They tied the knot at Manchester Cathedral the following July, with several Coronation Street cast members there to celebrate.
Seven months after their wedding, the couple announced they were expecting on Valentine’s Day with a touching black-and-white video shared on social media.
The clip showed Treweek in a flowing white gown as Shepherd gently placed his hand on her baby bump.
“We’ve been keeping a secret,” they captioned the post, revealing their baby was due in June.
Fellow Coronation Street stars quickly filled the comments with warm messages for the new family.
Sally Dynevor, who plays Sally Metcalfe, wrote: “Oh wonderful, so happy for you — what a beautiful name. Lots of love to you all.”
Georgia Taylor, known for playing Toyah Battersby, added: “Oh darling! So thrilled for you both, and what a beautiful name.”
Samia Longchambon also shared her congratulations, writing: “Amazing! Huge congratulations guys.”
Tina O’Brien, who plays Shepherd’s on-screen sister Sarah Platt, also sent her best wishes.
Outside Weatherfield, Danny Miller wrote: “Congratulations you three! All the love in the world.”
Shepherd has been a familiar face on the cobbles since joining the cast in 2000, playing David Platt for more than 26 years.
Before his relationship with Treweek, the actor was with Lauren Shippey for 15 years until 2017, and they share a daughter and son.
He also has another son, born in 2011, with Sammy Milewski, following a paternity test.
Away from Weatherfield, Shepherd won the 2025 series of Celebrity Big Brother, beating contestants including JoJo Siwa, Chris Hughes, Michael Fabricant and Mickey Rourke.
Earlier this month, he also revealed plans to take a break from the long-running soap.
