Adam Collard’s father has been charged over an alleged assault involving his own son, with the well-known property developer set to face trial later this summer.
The 56-year-old, William “Billy” Collard, has been accused of assault by beating following an incident reported in Newcastle last September. The Crown Prosecution Service confirmed the charge, and court records list Adam as the alleged victim.

Billy is due to appear at Newcastle Magistrates’ Court on August 7 for trial. The exact details of what is said to have happened between father and son have not been made public.
Adam Collard, who is engaged to ITV sports presenter Laura Woods, is currently expecting the couple’s second child.
Billy Collard is reported to have built a property portfolio worth around £3 million, generating significant annual rental income. He lives in a farmhouse in Horsley, Northumberland, valued at roughly £364,000.

His past includes previous legal issues. In 2008, he admitted fraudulently claiming nearly £6,000 in housing benefits and received a conditional discharge along with costs and repayment orders. Later, in 2019, £44,000 was seized under the Proceeds of Crime Act before being returned after appeal.
Despite the current case, Adam has previously spoken positively about his father, once describing him as “the coolest, most inspiring and generous guy I know.” The pair were known to have a close relationship, with Billy even using a photo of them as his social media profile picture at one point.

Adam, who first rose to fame on Love Island in 2018 before returning in 2022, has also appeared on Celebrity SAS and Celebs Go Dating.

He began dating Laura Woods in October 2023. The couple announced they were expecting their first child in July 2024, and later became engaged during a beach proposal in St Ives, Cornwall. Laura Woods is currently in the United States covering the World Cup for ITV.
