Jeremy Clarkson shares a health update as he speaks out for the first time since his cancer diagnosis

Jeremy Clarkson has given an update after speaking publicly for the first time about his cancer diagnosis.

The TV presenter reassured fans in a recent Instagram video, saying, “I’m perfectly fine.”

The 66-year-old revealed in the latest episodes of Clarkson’s Farm season five that he had been diagnosed with “aggressive” prostate cancer, which was caught early.

He has since urged men to get checked, warning:
“Look, 10,000 to 12,000 men die every year in the UK from prostate cancer. Don’t be one of them. Get tested.”

In an interview with The Times, Clarkson confirmed that a PSA test taken two months ago showed no signs of cancer and that he is now in remission.

He said he had discussed the issue with former Prime Minister David Cameron, adding that many people have told Cameron they only got tested because of his openness about it.

Clarkson also mentioned a small informal group of people, including food writer Giles Coren, who have all experienced prostate cancer. He said they occasionally meet for lunch and compare test results, joking that even they sometimes lose track of their own medical details.

He added that the reaction to his diagnosis has “hit harder than I expected,” and strongly encouraged others to get screened, saying it is simple, not painful, and could save lives.

He also reflected on seeing many people affected by cancer, noting how difficult it must be to live knowing the illness may be fatal, and praised cyclist Chris Hoy for continuing to deal with his own diagnosis.

At the end of the Clarkson’s Farm season finale, Clarkson revealed he had suffered complications during treatment after restarting medication for previous heart and vascular issues.

He admitted the decision caused a serious medical emergency, saying he resumed blood thinners without consulting a doctor and later realised it was a mistake.

The diagnosis came nearly two years after he underwent a heart procedure in which he had stents fitted to improve blood flow. After that operation, doctors advised him to slow down and take up golf instead of work.

Clarkson has previously quit smoking after a bout of pneumonia while on holiday in Spain.

The sixth season of Clarkson’s Farm is expected to air in 2027.
