After a Decade Apart, My Divorced Parents Remarried at Christmas — and No One Saw It Coming

After a Decade Apart, My Divorced Parents Remarried at Christmas — and No One Saw It Coming

Marrying young is not supported by many, but if the right people marry, it can last a long time, too, or maybe even forever. It is the story of a couple who married at 21 when most people are busy partying and sorting out their lives. They were ready to do it together. So, they covered the journey together for 32 years! It’s like they did see each other grow. It was a marriage that looked perfect, but with increasing age, the couple realized how they had turned into different human beings.
While the dad loved a cozy, homely environment, the mother was a social butterfly. The kids, too, were shocked when, after three months of the divorce, their parents broke the news. This resulted in a shock as the children had never even witnessed a single argument in all these years. The silent realization of how different their personalities were tore their relationship apart. The decision was taken with mutual consent and without disrupting the love and peace between the family.

When they divorced, Dad still lived with them for the next two months, as his new house was under construction, so the kids never understood what was happening. In between the times, although they dated people trying to find the perfect match, a distance was never felt. They celebrated all events together and were also seen casually dating at times. There was a spark that did not extinguish with the divorce. However, there was something new and different about the summer this year.
Everyone knew that the mother was dating someone, but things seemed to get serious between the two, and between all this, the dad realized how she could not see herself getting with another man. It wasn’t his ego but his love!

So, it was time to return to his romantic pursuit, which seemed straight out of a movie. He was putting in all the efforts that he could, from regularly sending his mom her favorite flowers to going to church to pray and even planning trips to spend time together.
Soon, it was time for Christmas, so the entire family was told to coordinate the colors of their outfits as they wanted to capture a perfect family photo. Although it was a tough job for eleven people to wear coordinated dresses, it was made possible.
Something felt off.

The photographer couldn’t reach his tripod, and the parents were nowhere. Everything froze when the dad was seen walking in a suit while the mother, in a white wedding dress, held a bouquet. Yes! They were getting married again. The outfit coordination wasn’t for nothing.
The person who was considered the photographer was a minister, and it was not a photoshoot. Surrounded by their loved ones, kids, and grandkids, they remarried after 10 years of getting divorced and decades of being in love.
Some things do not work out, but love wins in the end!
