After Escaping My Abusive Marriage, I Found My Fairy Tale Man: A Single Mom’s Journey to Love and Healing

After Escaping My Abusive Marriage, I Found My Fairy Tale Man: A Single Mom’s Journey to Love and Healing

It was just a casual work event that she had to attend, where she met a man. One that was going to be her future husband, an abuser. The attention he gave her flattered her, and in the process, the narcissistic approach that he opted for was ignored. He wanted her to stay isolated, not just from her friends but also from her close family members, imposing what he wanted her to do and making it clear that she would be responsible for his already existing kids at an early stage- there was plenty wrong in the relationship.
Three months into the marriage, they got the news that she was expecting.

With her belly growing, his attitude kept getting worse, and soon the abuse was not just limited to being emotional, but now he physically abused her too. It went to such a great extent that in a hot talk, he stabbed her hand. Getting shoved and choked was a norm in her life.
Over time, all wounds heal, but the scars they leave should remind us of the boundaries meant to be set from the very beginning of any relationship. She gave birth to a son, and after two years, on 13 October, twins were welcomed into the house, too. All the kids had the same birthday, which eventually became her beacon.
Once she was discharged from the hospital after delivering her babies, she knew it was the right time to make a life-changing decision, to leave him.

The mom was prepared to fight everything that may come her way, as leaving a marriage behind with a toddler and two newborns was not an easy journey.
Every day, when she saw that her kids were finally at peace, and there were no loud noises surrounding the house, it was enough to keep her at peace. Before she met someone new and decided to move on with her life, she knew she had to heal her previous traumas for that.
The mom also worked at a behavioural school, where she encountered a humble man, Brian.

Although initially scared of her experience and the fact that she had three kids, she took her time analyzing and accepting the situation. Brian finally asked her, and the day they went out to have their first drink together, he confessed all the love and feelings he had been holding for long enough now.
His eyes made it clear that he wanted her to become a permanent part of his life. Brian met the kids a few months later, and they bonded quickly.

It felt like the kids were finally going to get the love they could not get from their biological father. When her ex-husband stepped back, Brian was the one to make the kids and her feel safe and happy.
The couple married two years after Brian proposed in 2016, and he wholeheartedly accepted her and the kids. The marriage ceremony, which took place at a courthouse, was a beautiful sight, and the judge praised him for the man he was.

Past traumas did get better, but they still haunt her sometimes, too, but Brian, a wonderful husband, takes care of it all without complaining. He sure reminds them he is and will always be here for them. Walking away from an abuser was the most excellent decision she made. The story that started from a nightmare ended up being a fairytale!
