Although now having a family of 7, each member unique and beautiful, makes Kecia grateful for everything she has. However, looking back, it was an arduous journey. A 27-year-old woman whose life was wonderful never thought Down Syndrome would become such a significant part of the story she would be narrating.
It was the third time she was expecting, after which she welcomed Bree after a C-section, her third daughter. The pregnancy did have complications; however, after a few hours of giving birth, the doctors informed her about how the baby might have Down Syndrome.

It broke her heart. Not knowing what the journey of caring for a child diagnosed with Down syndrome would look like. She saw the baby right after giving birth, but the beautiful, round face made her fall in love. She did have a hard time accepting the fact that the baby wasn’t normal and might feel unseen and unheard throughout her life.
All these thoughts that kept crossing her mind made her sob consistently for more than 24 hours. The fears and the scary thoughts of how it would affect the family, how she would take care of the baby, took over her. It was all before she had seen correctly the tiny, beautiful human.

But, the moment the couple reached her incubator, Bree wrapped her fingers around Kecia’s finger, and at that very moment, she knew everything would be perfectly okay. Bree was just another beautiful addition to the family, a bit different but loved equally. This is what fate had for them, and they were wholeheartedly able to accept it all.
When Bree was taken home, all the fears overtaking Kecia faded with each passing day. Bree was a source of ultimate joy and gratitude for the parents, as the family hadn’t been happier.

Kecia also went through the painful journey of dealing with miscarriages, but things got better when she came across a post on social media.
It was a little girl being transferred to an adult mental institution. The baby has no home and lives in an orphanage in Ukraine. Kecia’s heart screamed that the baby belonged to her, so five months later, she stood in court taking responsibility for baby Mia, making the baby her forever!
Mia’s arrival brought so many blessings, as just a week after she arrived, Kecia found out that she was pregnant.

She had been waiting for a dream to come true for a long time. She was expecting twins, but at 20 weeks, the doctors told the couple that they had twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome. Thus, an emergency surgery had to be done in California. The journey and the couple’s life post-surgery were a nightmare. Every day, when they woke up, they prayed for the babies to be fine. Each scan brought fears, as they wanted to hear the heartbeats, and yes, their prayers did come true.

At 37 weeks, healthy twin baby girls were welcomed into the family, but this was not just an end to the growing family. The couple returned to Ukraine for baby Noah, also diagnosed with Down Syndrome. His mother wanted the best for him and looked for someone who could give Noah a good life full of love, and God chose the couple for him.
Presently, the couple has seven beautiful children, three of whom are diagnosed with Down syndrome. Their presence in the family is strong, and they are loved immensely! It all started with the magical baby Bree’s birth!
