Girl friendships are the most beautiful part of a girl’s life. From jamming to top hits on car drives and eating out together as young adults to making each other laugh on the other person’s lowest day, girl friends do it all for you! Whenever something goes wrong, you know exactly who to call; only a call can make things feel okay when they take you to a delusional world, when reality hits hard. Not just this, but they are also the voices that reminded Mari to dance her heart out with Eddie Money while she sipped the perfect glass of soda with lime.

Together, the girls create magic that no guy can in a girl’s life because they understand and know exactly what to do through every rough phase. Mari posted about how she goes on an annual girls’ trip with her girls, who are now mothers. Call it a momcation! Every time, it is a new city where they book a perfectly planned long weekend together. After marriage and especially after embracing motherhood, a woman’s life changes drastically as responsibilities take over the fun and joy. Most of the time, we encounter women who lose their friendships while embarking on new journeys.

However, Mari and her friends know how important it is to leave the worries and responsibilities behind and enjoy girlhood. Also, know that it is never too late! The trip taken feels like it is sacred. All the emotional and mental burdens they carry feel lighter when they laugh until they can’t breathe, and they make enough memories to keep their energies high for the next few months.
Whether people call it a girls’ trip or a momcation, Mary wanted everyone to know its importance because every woman needs it! She stated that Mari is well aware of the many stigmas and concerns attached to taking time off if a mother or a woman wants to take time off. Commonly, people around you might make you feel guilty just because you are away for the weekend. But, it’s high time you prioritize yourself; with all you do, you deserve it! From managing work, caring for the kids, and the house, women often do it so effortlessly that it seems easy. Only if they knew about the effort it takes to manage all this, every day.

Mari herself shared that her life is all about her children, husband, and students, but she is glad she never feels guilty when she decides to prioritize herself after days of tireless work. Neglecting yourself is one of the worst things you can do, and mothers can not afford to do this, as losing themselves means losing all that they have.
When Mari tells people about her annual vacations, they often ask why the break is necessary. While motherhood is beautiful and teaches you a lot, we can not deny that mother burnout is real. Mothers need space and time to heal, and a weekend away does not make you a bad mother at all, it just shows you are a human and you need to do things at the pace of your choice rather than waking up at six and running after babies while the food gets cold on the table and no one is bothered.

Despite having a great husband, one who understands, loves, and takes care of Mari tells how it is essential for your girls to stick around. No one would disagree that how men and women process things and function are parallel universes. Only a girl could understand the urge to do a target run to get a few snacks, which turns into paying hundreds of dollars for shopping. They remind you that you have someone to listen to and complain to and are not alone. You always see a better version of yourself whenever your favourite girlies surround you, which is undoubtedly the best feeling ever.

Every time Mari returns home, she is ready to become a more energetic, loving, and mentally present mother for her children. She loves how sweetly her babies hug her and welcome her home. To back stronger, make sure not to delay the trip on your checklist! You’ll be perfectly okay, and you deserve it all!
