From a Single Phone Call to a Forever Family: How Two Sisters Found Home in My Heart

Since she was a little girl, the wish inside her heart to adopt was always there. She loved kids from the core of her heart, and the thought that a few of them never received the love they deserved bothered her so much.
She married and had three beautiful kids with the love of her life, but the thought never left her mind. She wanted to do this. From praying to God with tears welling up to journaling her wish, she never left any chance to express her will. On one random day, she received a call.

It was from the police station, and the person on the other side told her the children needed a home and had come into care through DCFS.
She was stunned and had a hundred questions. Who were the go children? Was it the time her wish was going to be fulfilled? Whose children were they?
She questioned who the children were and was told that they were from a woman who visited the church when her husband was a pastor. It was an event that took place around 7 months ago!
The bell rang half an hour after the call. Three little faces with beautiful eyes looked up at her as if she could save them. They had nothing with them—they weren’t even wearing clothes! Her responsibility was three little boys: 6, 8, and 10. Although the older two got to meet their biological father, the 6-year-old stayed with her for over a year, and she loved him very dearly. He did have a dad who recently got released from prison, and she could give him the child, as there could be no better thing than a child living with his parents and the dad getting a second chance. But the dad lived away, in another state. He loved his son dearly and was willing to meet him after driving for 10 hours when he got a chance to visit, so the process of out-of-country adoption could be long and full of problems.
However, she knew the little boy probably had a few more days with her. While all this was going on, she again got a call. This time, a 5-year-old baby girl needed her, and soon, she, too, walked into her house with a trash bag containing her clothes.

The baby girl had lice in her hair and pinworms and lice on her body, too, as she slept on the floor in the foster home she had previously been in. She took the bag outside and placed it there. In 6 weeks, the girl lived in 5 different houses. The woman, to make her feel safe and loved, told her how she was cute, to which she replied, “No, I cuss.’ She was a precious little girl whom the world could not take good care of. In 30 minutes, there was chaos when the woman started treating her hair. She ran outside, and the woman had to bring her while screaming. Although she knew this was not supposed to be done right after she met the child, there was no other option. Things would have become worse.
In the next few days, it was her 6th birthday, and her school started, for which she brought a rainbow dash lunchbox. Her heart was full of joy! After 2 weeks, the woman was requested to take her sister, who was previously living with her relatives. The little girl was in an even worse condition, with a broken arm and sores all over her skin.

She recognized her sister ‘Addy’ from the pictures on the wall and felt a bit better. Even at school, she caused a bit of chaos as she couldn’t trace well and messed with her pants, but after a meeting with the teachers, a plan was made, and things were settled.
The following year, the woman officially adopted them as their biological mother signed her rights to them as their family condition wasn’t good enough, and the girls would not be able to get enough love there.
The mother loves her girls a lot and visits them often, too. She also gets rehab sessions to get better. Together, they are all living a beautiful life and making memories to be cherished because each child deserves to be loved and taken care of! The woman who previously had three daughters has five now, and life couldn’t get any better! It’s a blessing to her.
