The Royal Family marked Father’s Day by sharing a touching photo of King Charles III with his late father, Prince Philip.
The image, taken on August 20, 1971, at RAF Cranwell, shows the then-Prince of Wales receiving his wings, with father and son smiling in a heartwarming moment.
The post was captioned: “Celebrating all fathers, and thinking of those who wish they could be with their dads today.”
Prince Philip passed away in 2021 at the age of 99.

Last year, King Charles III and Queen Camilla also shared heartfelt tributes to their fathers.
One photo showed Prince Philip pushing a young Charles and Princess Anne on a swing, while Camilla posted a picture with her father, Major Bruce Shand, taken on her wedding day to Charles.
This year, Father’s Day also falls on the same day as Prince William’s 44th birthday.
Kensington Palace released a rare unseen photo of the Prince of Wales with his 11-year-old daughter, Princess Charlotte, just days after last week’s Trooping the Colour celebration.
The message alongside the photo read: “Happy birthday and Father’s Day to the best Papa in the world. We love you very much.”
It was signed by Catherine, Princess of Wales, Prince George, Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
The heartwarming image was captured by Matt Porteous.

William has previously spoken about fatherhood, saying it made him realise how precious life is and helped put everything into perspective.
He has also described being a father as “life-changing” and deeply emotional.
In an earlier interview with the Daily Mail, William admitted he sometimes handles the school run, though Catherine “probably does most of it.”
He has also championed open conversations about mental health and emotions with his children.
Speaking to the BBC, he said he enjoys hearing every detail from his children and values the time spent understanding their thoughts and feelings.
The future King became a father when Prince George was born on July 22, 2013, at the Lindo Wing.
Princess Charlotte was born on May 2, 2015, and Prince Louis completed the family on April 23, 2018.
