Justin and Haley met at a very young age, when their college had just started, but their love for each other was immense. They bonded quickly and, a few years later, were already planning for the future and their family. The fact that they both agreed to opt for adoption was exciting to them, as they loved the idea of adopting an older child. One who understands things, the main aim always has to be to provide the child with a good life, and one full of love. However, when the decision was taken, it initially seemed scary.

Various fears surrounded Haley as they did not know if it was the right time and if they could give the child a quality lifestyle, being young themselves. Not just this, the fear that the child would accept them as his parents was undoubtedly the scariest, so, before beginning the process, it took three years to receive all that came with the decision.
When Haley turned 22 and Justin 25, the couple was ready to embark on this long-awaited, beautiful journey. They had little information about whether they would be allowed to adopt an older child, and it was when they learned about second chances. It was a programme especially initiated for the children whose adoption failed the first time.

Through the same programme, they met Noah, a child who needed someone to protect and love him and make him thrive. Noah was adopted at birth; however, it did not end well because the parents were not able to afford the finances as he required therapies. Thus, after spending eight challenging years, he clearly was not happening, which broke Haley’s heart. We get so hurt by little rejection, even being adults, she couldn’t imagine the pain the little kid had to go through when the family refused to accept him.
The couple was all set to give Noah the love, care, and protection he had lacked since his birth. When the family of three moved to Tennessee, Noah was making a significant change. He did not just eat with enthusiasm, but the boy no longer required special education classes. Moreover, he spoke about how he made friends and was thriving. Some days did get hard, but of some comfort to his previous behavior and how he felt, it was a parallel universe!

An incident that Haley couldn’t resist getting teary-eyed over was when one night, before going to bed, Noah, with eyes full of curiosity but a sense of comfort, asked Haley if her life was more complicated since Noah became her son. Haley did not see it coming, and seeing the teary eyes, Noah understood that it was difficult, but worth it, as the couple’s life had only improved since he became a part of their life. He did not know how the couple had been waiting for him. Of course, handling things with a new person becoming a part of their family was hard; however, the house walls now echoed laughter, and the joy was doubled.

Not only this, but he was a straightforward child to love, as he never gave his parents a hard time loving him. He was also proud of how he had a lot of families that had taken care of him, as so many people spend their lives experiencing the love family gives and don’t get it. Seeing how Noah saw his journey as a blessing, and ot something to haunt him, showed that the boy was wise at a young age and understood things well.
Sometimes, he is concerned and fears being abandoned again; however, with hugs and reassurance, the parents comfort him by telling him that this time, he is theirs forever. The first eight years might have been challenging, but Haley is sure he wants to love Noah harder on days he feels love and take away all his fears and pain with time. The home was his!
