She always dreamed of capturing the moment she gave birth to her children, preserving a memory of giving birth. During her first pregnancy, she was determined to do so, but the reality of the delivery room was far different from what she had imagined. She hadn’t realized she would need to hold her legs during the birthing process, technically making it impossible to photograph it.
But this time, she was determined to capture the moment. She came prepared with her close friends Wendy, Lauren, Megan, Becca, and her husband, who quietly supported her throughout the process. She was committed to bringing her baby boy into this world and preserving the moment through her own lens. The day it began early, just like she wanted. Around 3 am, she checked into the hospital to be induced, for the most challenging part was leaving her daughter for the very first time. As she was kissing her goodbye, her eyes filled with tears, she was aware that life was about to change for both of them.

Well, labour didn’t move quickly until lunch the next morning. After that, things finally began to progress. In a hospital bed, she was all set in the hospital bed, propped up, munching on ice chips while her husband and Wendy sat beside her, enjoying their meal of bacon, egg, and cheese sandwiches. The smell of that meal was making her sick, and her hunger and frustration made it more overwhelming for her.
She only wanted to kick them out of the room at that moment. Like his elder sister, the baby was in no rush to come into this world. As the Foley balloon was already there to help her induce labour pains, well, this experience was far from pleasant for her.

To help her open her pelvis, she was instructed to keep a peanut pillow between her legs. Although it was an awkward position for her, it was needed at the time. Initially, the progress was slow until finally the moment arrived for which everyone had waited. The first practice push was unforgettable not only for her but also for the whole supporting group. Their expressions were a mix of emotions: awe, nervousness, and sheer disbelief. Everyone had a role to play.
Wendy was holding her right leg and noted down the birth time. Lauren was holding her left leg, whereas Megan and Becca were looking with eyes as round as saucers, making it seem like they had just seen a ghost. Her husband was sitting quietly behind her, trying his best not to look at the view at the foot of the bed. Wendy reminded her to get her camera ready as the doctor signaled that the baby was near.

While pushing her baby out, she managed to lift the lens and fire it to take pictures. After five strong pushes, she welcomed her baby boy into the world. She captured the moments beautifully. In one hand, she had her newborn, whereas the other had the camera, which now had the memories dearest to her. Later, Kailah visited the hospital to see the new family member, her baby brother, and her toothy smile showed how overjoyed she was to meet him.
She also brought with her a few gifts for the baby, including a toy and a new book, which made their first meeting even more special. Kailah undoubtedly was the most caring baby sister ever, assisting her mother with the chores and being extremely gentle towards the baby.

Photographing the moment she gave birth was and will always be the dearest to Lauren, as with the birth of Kai came happiness and joy. To document the birth, she had the right group of friends and the determination that takes a lot of strength. However, the tears, laughter, and anticipation captured will forever be priceless!
