A family in the Philippines was unable to buy or rent a prom dress for their teenage daughter; her older brother, Maverick Francisco OAO, intervened and created something truly special. Hoping to give his sister a memorable night, he decided to make her dream dress, a beautiful ball gown that looks like it was specially made for a princess.

Maverick and his sister were so close to each other. They do everything with each other. She is the main person that I can trust, he stated. We shared the same ideas and little secrets. That is the reason I aimed for the absolute best for her. When he noticed her sadness about potentially not attending prom, he chose to fulfill her desire.

Maverick like Michael Cinco’s design and made a gown. Though he had never created anything quite as intricate before, he did not allow that to hinder him. He found cheap fabrics and supplies, and worked on them every day after school. It becomes hard sometimes because he did not know where to start or wanted to give up, but he kept going because he loved his sister so much.

Maverick’s mother used to make dresses, and he thinks he got his creativity from her but making the dress was still very hard. He used nine different pieces of fabric to make a satin ribbon pattern and added flowers with beads sewn by hand.

Maverick sometimes said he felt very tired, but thinking about the finished dress gave him the strength to keep going. His love for his sister was what kept him going.

On prom night while helping him get ready, both Maverick and his sister cried. The dress came to life, and seeing her so happy made all the hard work worth it. He said that is why he made the dress for her happiness.

Maverick wants other girls to feel special too. He plans to make a YouTube video showing how to make a dress like this at home, so everyone can feel beautiful on prom night.

He said: I am lucky to have her, and she is lucky to have me to all the brothers out there love your sisters like they are princesses.
