Most of us can’t even imagine the pain one could go through when they are told about being terminally sick; however, Jane went through it all with great strength. It was last summer when Jane felt like there was a lump in her abdomen. At first, she did not worry much and thought it would go away through medication; however, she had no idea how her life would take such a drastic turn. It turned out that she was diagnosed with cancer, and the treatment had to be started before her condition got worse.

After a risky surgery and a round of chemotherapy, the doctors did not look happy, and soon she was told that the situation was out of hand now. The cancer was spreading in her body way too fast, and the doctors also suggested that rather than getting further treatments and surgeries, she should choose comfort rather than pain in the time she had left to live. Death is something you can’t escape, and keeping this in mind, Jane wanted to spend the rest of her days filled with joy rather than the grief of leaving.

In the next few days, she was already writing in her recently started journal, ‘Jane’s joy journal’. She penned down all about her life, the moments that made her so weak that she was on her knees, and the ones that made her so overwhelmed with joy that she couldn’t hold it in. Not just this, but after the prognosis, something surprising happened. Sam, the love of her life, proposed to Jane on 22nd February. No one saw this coming, but with love comes great joy, and Sam aimed to make her smile and happy, as the couple had manifested to get married in the mountains.

Their loved ones supported Sam’s idea, and with the combined efforts of everyone from friends to family, their manifestations turned into reality. All of it happened in a week only! Multiple challenges were encountered because of Jane’s health. Her confidence was fragile, and no one could predict her health the next moment; thus, uncertainty loomed. Depending on the weather, Jane had to be brought to Vancouver from Calgary by helicopter or a gondola. The transport had to be arranged as their wedding was at Grouse Mountain.

God was in the couple’s favour that day, and soon, from the fog and clouds emerged beautiful Jane, dressed up in white. She was wearing a smile everyone wanted to see for so long. There were volunteers present at the venue, each with an assigned duty. The volunteers put in a lot of time and effort to make the day extra special. The phrase ‘love is in the air’ came true when Jane walked down the aisle holding her father’s hand. Most people at the venue did not know how to feel as they celebrated Jane’s big day, which was blissful; however, no one knew how long the love would last.

While the couple exchanged vows that should last a lifetime, everyone was in tears, seeing their love that no disease or distance could fade away. Although Jane was clearly tired from all the pain she had been going through, her happiness couldn’t be ignored. It was proof of her strength and love for the sad. Their connection was not just worldly; it was spiritual. The pictures captured tender moments from the couple exchanging rings to the teary eyes and warm smiles. Every moment was captured in beauty and spoke for itself.

The couple returned home to Calgary the next day, so Jane did not get physically drained and got enough rest. The most special part was how beautifully Jane wrote about the special day! It showed how her journey was full of love and hope that she next let go of. The hardest seasons of life can be beautiful, too!
