She was set for a day that would stress her out and tire her to the fullest. On November 9th, 2018, she had to survive a midnight flight, being pregnant and traveling with a toddler! However, things came out differently. No more than five minutes before boarding, she held her baby in the airport bathroom.
She gave birth at 29 weeks, although what they had planned was completely different. As her husband served in the Navy and was preparing for deployment, the couple decided it was the right time to move to Washington, Kentucky. Who knew it was time to give birth before getting on the plane? Even though the doctors had a few concerns regarding her health, she was allowed to travel after the ultrasound reports came out clear. It was soon the flight day, and they filled the car with the luggage she had to manage alone. Five suitcases, two pets, a disappearing bag, and whatnot? It was chaos. Her friend dropped the couple off at the airport and left, crying after a good laugh.

She had mild pain while the security scans and checks were being done, and she told her husband how she was not mentally prepared for the flight, but all her husband could do was cheer her up and motivate her, as he knew she could do it! However, just a few minutes later, her labor was induced. She could hardly talk because of the extreme contractions and asked the security to call an ambulance.
Then, rather than waiting, she headed towards the restroom, where she was stopped as cleaning was in progress. Being in such a painful state, she went away yelling and hunched over at her husband when she saw a firefighter coming towards them. They were given space as the man led them to a small family restroom, but before anything else could be done, she felt the baby come out. Although she tried to catch him, he slipped into the toilet.

This was a terrifying moment, but a wave of relief hit when a female EMT told them that they had a boy and he was alive. The husband stood there, trying to process what had just happened. Wyatt Dale, a beautiful baby boy, was born, but under what conditions? Only god saved him.
In a while, two ambulances arrived and went to the hospital in chaos.
Later, the family learned that this was only the third time in the past forty years that someone had given birth at an airport. When things settled, the couple visited the fire station to show gratitude for their prompt response, and they called Wyatt ‘The airport baby.’ The baby was in the NICU for a few months but is doing better now.

He is a miracle for the couple, and they look forward to taking him home soon!
