The kids couldn’t contain their excitement as they would finally meet Santa in person. Children never get tired of making memories that they can cherish forever. Despite knowing how Christmas works, Haidyn was very excited to meet him. When they reached, the children stood in line as turns came individually. Each child took pictures with Santa, greeted him, and walked away, but something different happened when it was Haidyn’s turn.
Santa told her to stay for a while after gently patting her leg, but why? As Santa humbly spoke to the girl, tears welled in her eyes, and she got emotional. A long line of children was waiting to meet Santa, but Haidyn and her tears mattered to him at that point. With kindness and love, Santa tried comforting the little girl with teary eyes, and in a few minutes, Haidyn gave him a big, warm hug and walked back to her parents.
Whatever he said to her meant a lot; taking time to comfort a stranger’s child was truly a pure, heartwarming act. No one does that these days!
The parents were inquisitive after seeing their daughter cry, so they tried asking her. At first, she tried getting away, saying it was about getting what she wanted for Christmas. However, the parents knew this was not the case, as Haidyn knew the family gifted each other on Christmas, not Santa. However, the mother still asked what she wanted so she could gift it to her.
When the mother asked, Haidyn broke down and told the parents that she only wanted her best friend, Brooklyn, who had moved to Indiana, by her side this Christmas.
The parents also figured out why Santa had kept her back on purpose so he could know the problem and make things easier for her. How beautiful and easy kindness makes the world. She shared it all with Santa, and in an instant, he acknowledged the little girl’s feelings and told her he knew how hard it was to be away from someone close to you. Of course, he could not do anything for her, but comforting her immediately was beautiful.
He had the option of letting everything go and moving to the next child without wasting any time, but he chose to hear her out and make her feel better, as his words were very impactful. It went to Haidyn and the parents. The magical words of comfort were worth more than any materialistic thing or toy.
The best part of the story is that Brooklyn and her family will visit in a few days, and Haidyn’s wish will be granted most beautifully. Santa comforted her, and now her wish will also be fulfilled. On the day Haidyn was reunited with her best friend, she was the happiest she had been in a while, and it showed how important Brooklyn was to her.
She told Mom how it was the best Christmas ever. Not just this, they also found out who the man, Santa, was and especially thanked Dieter Schneider. He was the kind of Santa who gets paid to meet people and makes everyone feel seen, loved and heard. Heidyn would grow up, but the memory will always be a core memory for her!
