Hey bro, can you help me with food and clothes?” I replied, “How about lunch?”That simple answer led to an unexpected and meaningful friendship.

Two years ago, someone named Brian messaged me on Facebook. He asked me, Hey man, any chance you would help me for some food and clothes? I said, I am sorry, but I cannot provide you with money however, I had love to join you for lunch and explore ways I can assist you. He asked, Can, you please take me to the McDonald’s, my dude? A couple of days later, I retrieved him.

Brian has a mental disability, yet he was brimming with energy and compassion. He met me with a broad smile and a handshake. He felt thankful, and I soon recognized that he was a truly remarkable individual. Brian has a hidden disability but he was always full of energy and kind to other. He sat on a small sofa and wanted a job but had no information about how to get one. He sensed and missed friends

I actually contacted many places to assist him in finding a job, but it was very tough due to his disability. I paid Brain a bit for helping with little things like gardening, but it was not enough. He got the financial support from the New Zealand disability allowance, yet he continued to face difficulties.

Upon reviewing his expenses, I noticed that a large portion of his funds was allocated to loan repayments. He was not even sure what some of the accusations were. A loan imposed an interest rate of 450%.

Brian had paid $420, yet the debt increased to $680.I spoke with the company, and they eliminated the interest. Brian needed to pay just $80, which I paid on my own. He was also being billed for a TV and PlayStation he did not possess anymore, and another company billed him for a PlayStation that never showed up. Following many calls, I was given some refunds and cancellations.

Brian and I make a TikTok video that became a huge hit; we reached more than 1.7 million views on our TikTok. Before long, a television program reached out to us.

Following the broadcast, Brian received five employment offers. He got a job with The Greenway’s Trust, where he works now; he got his own cabin, good food and new people. He is out of isolation or hardship, and now he started to lift others. We have shown on television three times. I also encouraged him to give a talk at my workplace. The story began with a single message and ended up with something astonishing that is all about empathy.
