Today, I went out for a walk with my dog Blue; something quite remarkable occurred. A young girl outside a funeral home asked, can I pet your puppy? I smiled and replied, sure if your parents allowed you. She offered a timid smile and quietly remarked, my parents are not here. My mother is in the home, and my dad is dead.

We are here for his funeral. Before I could reply, Blue gently approached her and took a seat directly in front of her. The young girl embraced Blue by wrapping her arms around her neck and holding on firmly. Her family and friends gathered around, and I observed that many had tears in their eyes, except the little girl, who appeared to be at ease. I quickly wiped my tears off, glad I have my sunglasses on and sat down to talk with her for a while.

Suddenly, she got to her feet and asked, Would you like to meet my dad? Kindly come to meet him!” I mentioned that I would be happy to, but I told her I had just done my walk and looked a little untidy, but she did not mind at all.

Therefore, I went after her to the funeral home. She presented me to her mother, grandparents, and even pointed out the blooms surrounding her father’s coffin. She mentioned that everything appeared. She then requested me that I could stay a little longer so she can play with blue a little more and pet him more. Soon I will to agree. Certainly, we remained.

Her uncle and aunt approached me with tears in their eyes. Her aunt softly said, I think God sent you and blue here today at this moment. Blue’s kindness has touch all of us heart.
I have always called Blue my gentle giant because she seems to know when someone is feeling sad and has a claim comforting way about her.
Today I am thankful for many things, especially for meeting this little brave girl. I know she will not remember me forever, but I will always remember her.
