On March 11, 2018, Francisco took me to the spare room. We were about to celebrate our first anniversary, but I wasn’t sensation well. My belly had been swelling for days, and it was hard to breathe. I was scared somewhat was wrong.

Doctors ran many tests and said I was fit. Still, I looked seven months pregnant because of fluid build-up in my body. They detached four liters of fluid but didn’t know why it had calm.

Later, I took a pregnancy test. It was optimistic! We saw a gynecologist, and at first, the ultrasound was hard to read since of the fluid. They thought I might be having twins, but told me to come back after my body got freed of some fluid.

At the additional ultrasound, the doctor’s face altered. She was quiet for a long time, then said, “There is somewhat unusual.” In its place of one or two babies, she saw four quadruplets! My spouse thought it was a joke, but it wasn’t. We were going to have four babies.

Fear hit us hard. We knew manifold pregnancies could be risky, for me and the babies. We told family and got lots of support. Our pregnancy was very rare fewer than half a percent of pregnancies have quadruplets, and most come from fruitfulness treatments. Ours was natural, a special gift from God. We felt called to take on this test.

We enthused to be near a specialist in multiple births who had delivered over 6,000 babies. I was her 109th patient with quadruplets, which gave us hope.

At 29 weeks, one baby’s sac broke, and I was hurried to the hospital. They gave me medicine to help the babies’ lungs and brains develop faster, but the medicine made my heart race and living hard. It was scary, but I wanted to do everything for my offspring.

At 5 a.m. on September 12, I ongoing bleeding, and doctors did an emergency C-section. A team of 25 people aided deliver the babies. My husband was there as each baby was born — only two notes apart. Each weighed about 2 to 2.5 pounds. They were all fit!

Kind for four babies has been tough. When one gets tasteless, they all get sick. Moving them around receipts thoughtful planning. I quit my job to care for them full-time, so Francisco works hard to provide for us. Occasionally his job keeps him away or too busy.

Being a mom to quadruplets is irresistible but also the greatest blessing. Their smiles give me strength every day. Before pregnancy, I was told I might never have children because of PCOS and other health issues. But Deity gave us a wonder, and we are grateful every single day.
