“You Look Like You Need a Break”—Mom Traveling Alone with Two Kids Overwhelmed Until 3 Strangers Step In and Save the Day

The idea of traveling alone with two kids did not seem that scary until she did it. She decided to travel with her toddlers—one aged two and the other only 5—and was left overwhelmed. Even boarding the plane was a tough job. While she was in the security line, preparing to go through the checks, it is fair to say she could tear up at any moment.

The younger child, Wyatt, was screaming to his fullest potential and had a full-fledged meltdown, whereas the older son, James, was standing there with a blank face.

Anyone could tell how exhausted the baby was. While she took care of the luggage and stood in line, the mother had a racing heartbeat, knowing she had made the wrong decision. While she was standing there praying for a miracle, one happened then.

A mom standing in front told her she knew how all this went and could step more easily. Only if she knew how easy she had made things for the mother, it felt like getting pulled out of chaos by a stranger. In the next few minutes, Wyatt dozed off, which was a good and a bad thing at the same time. With the multiple bags the mom was carrying, she also had to hold Wyatt.

Another lady, standing at a distance, noticed the struggling mother and asked her to hand over the things to her. This is precisely the beauty of kindness: you make this world a better place for the people. Although the mother insisted she could manage, the woman did not give up and helped her. The two strangers and their kindness helped the mom reach the gate, so they did not miss their flight.

When they boarded the plane, the mother thought the hard part was over, but it had just started! Wyatt woke up screaming and crying. Despite trying to soothe the baby in every possible way, nothing worked. Now, the mother was physically and emotionally exhausted. She, too, could break down any moment, but a lady approached and took her to the back of the plane.

She said something the mother could relate to: ‘I think you need a break.’

Another kind stranger was there to help without hesitation! She held Wyatt throughout the flight and even after they took off. Once the mother met her husband, she handed Wyatt to the husband, hugged the mother, and wished her a Merry Christmas.

Although the mother does not remember the names of any of the women because of the chaos, she is grateful and will forever remember them. The real magic was not what they saw in Disneyland but what she experienced at the airport—the magic of kindness!
