Children saving their families is a rare story that we hear. This is how a just two-year-old angel saved his entire family. A deadly house fire could take eight lives if the baby weren’t a quick thinker!
While the family was fast asleep early in the morning, the chaotic event took place. Fire erupted, and no one knew, as the smoke detectors were not working correctly either. So, no alarms were rung, and the house was covered in smoke until the baby noticed and alerted his parents. The cherry on top of this event was that the family had recently contracted COVID, so they had no taste or smell at the moment, even after recovering.
The situation could have worsened, but God always has plans to protect his people. Brandon wandered into his parents’ room that morning and woke Kayla, his mother. The little one ensured nothing happened, saving his family from his innovative thinking. Kayla described the situation, telling how Brandon was tapping her feet and coughing. The little one kept saying, ‘Mama, hot mama hot!’

Brandon had not felt well the night before, so his mom made him sleep in the living room. If he wasn’t doing well, she could go quickly and keep checking on him throughout the night. Kayla woke up knowing Brandon was there, but at that moment, all she could interpret was that he might not be feeling well or wanted to get out of his pajamas now.
But she realized! She quickly caught a glimpse of the burning room; a flames-filled hallway was all she could see. She immediately acted to prevent chaos in the house and promptly called the fire department for help and safety.
The fire started in the living room where Brandom was asleep last night, and the cause of it was probably the gas heater there. It was their good fortune that Brandom was well-equipped with knowledge of basic English words, and ‘hot’ was the word he chose to inform Mama.
In a few minutes, the firefighters arrived, and Nathan, a volunteer on that team, helped them escape the house without damaging the family members. It was all done in under a minute! Firefighters truly are heroes, too. The firefighter calmed down the family by showing them the plan and telling them things would turn out completely fine if they followed it.

Brandon’s warning that morning played a significant role in the safe execution of the family from the house, and they were well-prepared to escape just in time, too. A few minutes in, they could have lost it all as Nathan, the volunteer worker, stated how flames were coming out of the front door just a minute after the escape. This meant that the entire house was burnt, but the only thing that mattered to them at that moment was that the family was safe.
Despite losing their house and everything they had, the family showed gratitude because they were all together and complete. Kayla shared how rebuilding their home and getting new materials would be a long journey full of hard work and struggles, but she also mentioned how their guardian angel that morning, Brandon, saved all of them, and they were lucky.

The community has been actively getting them back on their feet, as thousands of dollars have been collected. It is not just these people from the community who recognize Brandom and give him little hugs of appreciation. Brandon is a hero in the town, too!
