Two months before the wedding, April and her husband learned they were expecting their first baby. It was a total surprise, but the couple celebrated knowing how much they were in love. Not only this, but because the couple thought there were high chances of infertility, it was no less than a gift from God. Rather than preparing for the wedding for weeks, the couple was all invested in deciding on a name for the baby and preparing a nursery for the baby girl.

The couple decided to name her Kinley Mae. The scans at 20 weeks were a bit concerning, and after four weeks, the doctors confirmed that the baby had a chromosomal disorder and the chances of her survival were low. The couple was disheartened, but they wanted to wait until birth, hoping for the best.
An emergency C-section had to be done at 37 weeks, and through it, little Kinley was welcomed into the world by her parents wholeheartedly. The baby weighs 4lbs, 12oz. And the couple was grateful that God gave them a chance to spend 10 beautiful days with their baby girl.

The couple learned how harsh it was to let go of people you love, yet little joy still exists in moments. A year after the baby’s death, the couple had a random thought to grow their family!
It could be done through adoption, and so without any delay, classes were taken, and in 2017, they were licensed foster parents. The first baby welcomed was a 6-week-old baby girl who was a part of their peaceful small family for five whole months; however, later the agency found her a permanent home where she was placed. How they had to process the heartbreak of letting go was hard on them, but the time spent was worth it. Just before the A left, the couple welcomed Chloe.

This time, they wouldn’t have to let go as she was their forever daughter and the biological sister of the couple’s nephew. Baby A was 15 months old, and Baby K was welcomed to their house in the next few months. Baby K was just a 16-day-old baby recently discharged from the NICU. It was time when God had decided for the family to grow, as in the next two months, baby M, a 3-year-old baby girl, needed a forever home.

Everything the couple had to go through felt worth it when M called them ‘Mommy’ and ‘Daddy’ the moment she met the couple. In 13 months of becoming foster parents, the couple was now a family of five. Having three children under three was bliss!
Chloe’s adoption was finalized on Valentine’s Day 2019. The room was filled with love and emotion, and over 30 people surrounded the family to join them on this special day. While in the courtroom at the end of the day, the judge thanked the couple for adopting the baby, to which the husband responded by saying how the couple needed her more.

The home is filled with love and echoes laughter. The family feels complete now; however, the couple is committed to continuing their journey as foster parents. The journey of infertility and facing laughter did drain the couple emotionally, but God surely has greater plans to heal. There was beauty and blessing throughout!
