From Forced Adoption at 16 to a Healing Reunion at Disney: A Birth Mom’s Journey Through Pain, Faith, and Full-Circle Grace

From Forced Adoption at 16 to a Healing Reunion at Disney: A Birth Mom’s Journey Through Pain, Faith, and Full-Circle Grace

It was July 2005 when she figured out she was pregnant. While seeing the two pink lines on the pregnancy test is bliss, she was also scared about her family’s reaction to the news and her future. However, she still decided not to hide the pregnancy for long and told her family about the ongoing situation. Upon hearing this and being utterly shocked at first, Brittany was given no other option than adoption.
Although Brittany resisted and did not agree at first, she eventually had to agree as she was not stable and the child could get a better life that way. Moreover, Brittany’s family also sent her to Virginia to live in her maternity home and told her how she could return after her due date in February.

She first chose a family from the life books for the baby, but her father changed her mind and opted for a different family.
On Brittany’s 16th birthday, she first met the baby that was going to be adopted as her baby, and then in January 2006, before labour was induced. This ensured the family was still ready to embrace the baby. Brittanys could not hold her baby, but did kiss her baby “J” once before she was permanently taken away from her. Since that day, life felt different; everything was blurred. Her early adult years were a total nightmare.
After the family took her back home, she was first isolated and homeschooled, and was later sent to a Christian boarding school. Everything happened against her will, but she had no option but to agree without resisting, although the conditions of her house were not too pleasant either.

How would it feel to live with a drug addict mother throughout your life? Thus, she decided to nannu and moved to Arkansas with the objective. After so long, this was her first opportunity to regain her life and stability.
In 2017, while scrolling her Facebook feed, Brittany saw how her baby, ‘J’, was vacationing in Orlando with her family. Surprisingly, it was the same week she was also going on vacation. Thus, one of Brittany’s friends messaged the family, and they were finally going to meet. The baby that had her whole heart, but she never got to see her again, Brittany could meet the adoptive parents and finally ask about her baby, who would be all grown up by now.

J and Brittany did not meet, but the parents did. They talked for hours about all that had happened, their lives, and whatnot. Brittany was overwhelmed and proud to know that her baby was gifted and creative. The girl, recently turned 14, thrived and was gifted in crafts and music. The parents fulfilled their responsibility and gave J a life full of love and luxuries, which was all that Brittany wanted to hear all these years. They also assured that if J ever wanted to meet her biological mother, they would always let her.

Since then, the parents have been constantly in touch, and although Brittany waits and trusts God’s planning regarding meeting her daughter again, she is also at peace with the fact that her daughter is safe and has escaped all the miseries she could have gone through.
Brittany also finished her Cosmetology school and now runs her own business independently. She has also found true love, Lucas, who has been supporting her and loves to see her thrive.
