Birthdays are the day all children wait for the entire year. So, Ava was waiting for her birthday. She was a two-year-old baby girl with the sweetest little dreams. Her mother, Raquel Noreiga, wanted that, but there was a line that differentiated her child from the rest of the children. Ava was diagnosed with Autism spectrum disorder.
A traditional party venue was not a good option for the child as they all had loud music, flashy lights, big crowds, and whatnot. Everything that could disturb Ava instead of making the day marvelous.
She knew her daughter’s needs well, and sensory sensitivities were to be kept away from the child at all costs. So it was time for the mother to become a superwoman! Everyone knows mothers never give up on their children out of love; this was the case here.
Raquel says: ‘All I wanted was a normal birthday party for my daughter.’ A wish that wasn’t so big started to build up on her.
She spent days finding the perfect place and finally found a space in Bayshore called ‘Pixie Dust’ in New York. The place clicked with her; she knew it was the right place to celebrate her child’s presence.
But this was not just what clicked in her mind; she also saw a vision. All special needs children can have a celebration that’s right for them, too!
A mother tuned into a superwoman for her children; now it was her time to shine as a businesswoman!

She bought the business, and currently, Pixie Dust is no ordinary place. It is a place where dreams come to life. Sensory-considerate parties take place for children who suffer from autism or other similar sensitivities.
From the menu and lights to the music played, all the demands are fulfilled, and expectations are met. The plan depicts a mother’s love. A mother thinks not only of her children but also of all children out there. Not just this, say no to crowded halls where multiple parties take place, taking away peace. Pixie dust focuses on making families happy by hosting one party at a time! In addition to setting up a Spiderman-themed birthday party to keep it gender neutral, everything is possible here, too.
Not only has the woman achieved this, but she is also working to become an autism specialist right now and looks forward to launching a support group for parents and children suffering from autism. We are sure Raquel will shine this time, too!
A safe, judgment-free place where everyone is welcomed- the perfect description for Pixie dust!
