‘New Grandma’ Through Surrogate Grandparents USA: Woman Finds the Family She Longed For

Love is not just about family and friends; it can be found anywhere in anyone. This is the story of Julie Hatfield, the woman who yearned for love but could not find it for years in blood. Instead, fate had something better planned for her. She joined a Facebook group, Surrogate Grandparents USA, and it was her time to feel loved and shine now.

Unfortunately, although Julie had a family, they did not care much about her presence and existence. They were distant from each other, and as a grandmother, she felt disconnected from them, too, as she never wanted to play by traditional rules.

Yet, who does not want someone who loves and cares for you around? Being around someone who loves and cherishes you is undoubtedly one of the biggest blessings of one’s life, but the boredom and not knowing what to do with life led her to join the Facebook group in 2016. She was so excited and ready to become a surrogate Grandma.

Although she joined the group early, it took time to become mentally prepared and set up her professional profile. After some time, once she did, she started receiving messages. One of the messages she received was from a young mother. Her name was Stormy, and she had a little daughter who needed to experience what it was like to have a grandmother and what experiencing love from her felt like. What was special was that Julie’s primary aim was to impact someone’s life positively, so she wasn’t hesitant!

Hearing each other’s stories, they knew they could offer each other precisely what they needed, so they connected and quickly built a pure, beautiful bond. All they needed was a loving family, changed dynamics, and closeness with the person they created a bond with, as both Julie and Stormy had faced similar challenges earlier in their lives.

A simple chat changed two lives beautifully—that too, when they least expected to find love and a home in someone else.

Julie met Stormy at her home with her fiancé. At the first meeting, she did not meet the girls and did not complain either, as a mother’s priority is the safety of her children. Later, when they met at a concert in spring, Abby, one of the girls, finally called her Grandma. Charlotte, the other girl, was sophisticated and took her time getting comfortable, but both girls had personalities that shone brighter than the sun!

In such a short time, they have created a bond as if they had known each other. From getting matching sunflower dresses to going on trips together, they are living a perfect life!

Living 90 minutes apart is no big deal, as their love is more than any distance. Julie’s void was filled the day she was called grandma, as Stormy made her girls experience how great it is to have a grandparent. It’s the story of finding family through surrogate grandparents, a perfect story of unconditional love!
