When we embark on a new journey, whether it is graduating, getting married, or taking any other big step we have planned, we often hope things will turn out the way we wish and have been praying for. Getting married young and madly in love was one thing that made her think that the rest of her life, too, would look the same; a fairytale.
However, things were perfect until the couple decided that it was time to grow the family. After trying to conceive a child for a long time, they were disappointed and heartbroken as things did not look like they were going to turn out fine any time soon.

The chances of being infertile brought further disappointment to such an extent that she broke down one day. Acknowledging and expressing your feelings is okay, but this time it was different. She sobbed and questioned why she saw everyone having babies while her arms were empty. But, being strong in faith, the whisper in her heart that God was there and things would be fine brought her so much peace.

The next moment, things felt better, and her heart felt at peace. It was the kind of peace she had been searching for a long time. The wish that the laugh of their child echoed in the house and how she wanted to hold her baby did not go away, but she felt better thinking that God must have a plan for her, too.
Five years passed, patiently and praying, but the doctors confirmed that there were rare chances for the couple to have a baby. The couple was in deep sorrow hearing the news, but soon, they visited the church one Sunday. The day was to reflect and act on behalf of all the orphans. It was the day!
The thought of adoption did not cross their minds before, but the couple, with teary eyes, looked at each other and said prayers. In 2014, the adoption of a baby officially started in Haiti.

The couple specified they wanted to adopt a baby with a limb difference; however, in September 2015, an email caught the wife’s eye. She usually ignored the kind of mail, as the rainbow kids hurt a little too much, and she could feel the pain from her personal experience.
However, looking at a one-year-old baby without arms but full of sass, she could not ignore it. The baby was not Haitian, as the couple had planned, but her heart and mind kept whispering that the baby was the one for the couple. The couple was not sure of the outcomes, but they did apply to the agency, which surprisingly did not have any problem with a dual-country adoption. It felt like all the closed doors for the couple had been opened at that very moment. It felt like a sign from God; this was why they had to wait, and the couple was sure it would be worth it.

Thus, in August 2016, they flew to Vietnam after the paperwork and funding were done. It was the first of September when they finally met her, and the couple did get a reality check as the baby did not bond with them instantly. It took days, but bringing her home remains their best decision. Since the baby became part of the family, the parents have seen her thrive, as despite having no arms, she can do everything herself. It is a story perfectly woven by God, as his plans are always better than how we see our future!
